No cults, no women of ill repute, no children and no diarrhoea, but yes, we have had the piercing (i had no idea we were so cliched). i did it to try and prove that i was zany and impulsive and also to see how much it hurt. As it happened i fainted (holding a glass of water) and felt really stupid for a while.
and i’m still kinda jealous.
This is excellently written in the modern, American, narrative, present tense style. It makes me wish I were young enough to be interested in the young life that is going on here. I suppose what I meant by ‘modern’ was what was once modern. It reminds one of Damon Runyon, various Rolling Stone reviewers and documenters, Tom Wolfe and so on.
